Can students at other universities use the library?

Answer

The SCONUL Access scheme will re-open at Staffordshire University from Monday 24th January 2022 allowing students from other institutions to access our libraries.

Membership of SCONUL Access is free and provides visitor access and borrowing rights to staff, postgraduates, distance learners and placement students – full-time undergraduates can apply for reference access.

Using Staffordshire University Libraries as a SCONUL Access member (Other UK University Students)

Bands A, B and C can apply to join our library for access to our facilities and for borrowing rights.

You will need to bring with you:

  • A passport photo, your SCONUL confirmation email and library application form must be emailed to us at studentconnect@staffs.ac.uk before arrival.
  • A form of photo ID (eg passport or driving licence) to be able to collect your library ID on arrival.

Band R can use our library facilities and resources for reference purposes only.

Access to our buildings is restricted to staffed opening times for all SCONUL Access users.

Our staffed hours are 09:00-17:00 Monday to Thursday and 0900-16:30 on Fridays.
