How do I borrow a book?

Answer

To take out a book you should use one of our self-service machines - you will find these in all of our libraries.

You will need to use your student card in order to take out books and other items, so make sure you always have this with you.

The normal loan period for most items is 2 weeks, which will automatically renew for 24 weeks if not requested by another user.

Please check your student emails for messages from the library with regards to requested items.

To check out a book using our self-service machines please follow these steps.

1.     Take your items to a self-service machine along with your Student ID Card or Library Card.

2.     Select Check Out from the options and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

3.     When all of your items have been issued, select Print Receipt.

4.     A receipt will be provided listing the items that you have borrowed and their due dates.

Please note: You will not be allowed to borrow items if you have outstanding charges, overdue items or if you have reached your maximum borrowing entitlement.
