You do not need to be an expert but your writing needs to make sense and the correct use of the most appropriate punctuation mark can help this. Learn the basic ones, and how and when you use them. Our online resources give you some examples. You will also find that reading your work aloud, or using a text to speech tool, will help you to realise where and when punctuation is required.
