Are Academic Skills appointments confidential?

Answer

Yes, unless you specifically ask us to liaise with other members of staff. 

We do keep records of student attendance and are fully compliant with Data Protection laws.  Students' personal details can only be viewed by the Academic Skills Team.  Monthly attendance reports are produced but no personal data is included.  We track trends on things like level of study, subject, and topics discussed in order to improve our service to you.

We also record your attendance, but no details of our discussions, on the dashboard used by your Academic Mentor.  You will be asked to give your permission for this when booking your appointment.
