Q. What is BoB?

Answer

BoB National - or Box of Broadcasts National - is an off-air recording and media archive service available to staff and students at Staffordshire University.

BoB National enables all staff and students to choose and record any broadcast programme from over 60 TV and radio channels. Recorded programmes are kept indefinitely and provide a large media archive as all recorded content is shared by users across all institutions who subscribe to BoB. You can make up to 5 new recordings per day. However, you may view/listen to as many programmes from BoB as you wish.

BoB National operates under the terms and conditions of the ERA licence. This means you can access BoB from anywhere on UK Mainland and Northern Ireland.

You have your own individual workspace within BoB National called My BoB. Everything that you record is automatically sent to this area. You can also add other existing programmes to playlists in your My BoB. From here, you can create clips of your programmes, create playlists of those clips, and add comments and descriptions to the playlists.
